Glove Overlook

Park at the dirt trailhead for the Superior Hiking Trail at the top of Ski Hill Road at Lutsen Mountains. Start hiking Northwest to the bridge over the Poplar River. Take in the view of the mighty river gorge before doubling back to continue North towards the overlook. Once leaving the bridge, the trail is quite a steep scramble up rocky terrain. Eventually you’ll come to a sign marking Glove Overlook, where you’ll go take your #TFTC26 Selfie with the Poplar River Valley in the background. Retrace your steps & Leave No Trace!

Camping Options – Looking to make a camping trip out of this hike? Continuing on the Superior Hiking Trail past Glove Overlook, you’ll come to the West Poplar River Campsite in half a mile. Shortly after that is the East Poplar River Campsite. Depending on which site you stay at you’ll be adding 1-2 more miles total to the hike. If you’re looking to extend the hike even more, continue on the SHT to Agnes Lake. This picturesque lake features two large campsites. West Lake Agnes is up a hill at the tip of the lake and East Lake Agnes is halfway on the shoreline just past Hunters Rock. Depending on which site you stay at here you’ll be adding 7-8 more miles to the hike from the Lutsen Trailhead for a total of around 10-11 miles.
